Early experience

Shen Junyi is from Quzhou, Hebei Province. On March 19, 1957, he was born in a family of military cadres in Guangxi. His father was a soldier going south and his mother was a local Zhuang nationality. Later, his father transferred to the engineering army. In 1962, the family moved to Beijing. He graduated from Beijing Haidian huayuancun middle school in 1975 and joined the PLA as a sports soldier.

After being demobilized from the army in 1978, he worked as a signalman in Beijing subway.

In 1984, by chance, he was selected by Guangxi film studio and began to take part in the film industry. He played the role of criminal policeman Su Chen in the film wanted by Guangxi film studio. His strong image and natural performance make him a professional actor.

In 1992, Shen Junyi lived with famous actress Jani, 12 years younger than himself, for eight years, but they broke up in 2000 without even knowing their friends.
