Li Yan, female, graduated from the art department in 1985, has been engaged in Hunan embroidery design since 1985. On the basis of inheriting traditional Xiang embroidery design and needlework, she combined western painting with traditional Chinese painting, making embroidery more appealing and decorative, with distinct artistic style. Developed a combination of painting and embroidery embroidery, three-dimensional embroidery, oil painting all different embroidery, light and shadow style contemporary works and other new varieties of Xiang embroidery.

In 2005, he won the excellent award of China Arts and crafts masters exhibition, and created the largest scale of double-sided all different embroidery. The embroidered portrait of the whole family of President Bush, which was designed, drawn and directed by President Jiang Zemin, was presented to the visiting Bush couple in the name of President Jiang Zemin in 2000. Zhangjiajie, a large Hunan embroidery masterpiece created and developed in 2001, is displayed in the Hunan Hall of the Great Hall of the people in Beijing.
