Chen Dafang (1874-1930) is a native of Wangyang village, Xiaochi Township, Longyan County, Fujian Province. At the beginning of 1929, he took part in the revolutionary struggle and soon joined the Communist Party of China.

He was a member of the workers' and peasants' riot team in WangMei township of Longyan county. He took part in the Longyan riot in March 1929, and then took part in the struggle to establish the revolutionary base of Longyan. In 1930, he served as the chairman of the Soviet government of Wangmei Township in Longyan County, and participated in the anti "suppression" struggle, the agrarian revolutionary struggle in the Western Fujian revolutionary base and the anti "encirclement" guerrilla war in the Central Soviet area. In 1930, he was killed by the enemy in the struggle against "encirclement and suppression" in Wangyang village, Xiaochi Township, and died heroically.
