Li Mingguang (1902-1984) was born in March, 1902, in Li village, Renli Township, Qingliu County.

Character experience

Mingguang was gifted with wisdom when he was young. And long, studying in County chijing primary school. After graduation, he was admitted to the training class of Zhanglong Highway Bureau in Fujian Province for training. After that, he became involved in politics. He witnessed official corruption, political turmoil, and people's livelihood suffering. He was not interested in politics, and soon went back to his hometown to study medicine. Mingguang had a deep understanding of pulse diagnosis. He once wrote a book on pulse, saying that the pulse is subtle and difficult to determine. It is difficult for beginners to simplify. They should be governed by "floating, sinking, delaying, counting, powerful and powerless". The ancients classified the three parts and six veins into Zang Fu organs. It is hard to believe that the other Zang Fu organs were separated by one finger. In view of this, he proposed that medical colleges and universities should sort out the traditional pulse science, carry out reform from practice, engage in simplification and set up models, so as to make it easier for medical practitioners to adapt to it. For clinical treatment, he is good at using classical prescriptions, learning from ancient but not from ancient, which has a significant medical effect. For example, Shaoyao decoction was originally used to treat dysentery, but in clinical practice, it was successfully used in the treatment of pinworm disease. Mingguang attaches great importance to medical ethics and has little money. Depending on their affordability, the poor people in rural areas only charge for medicine, sometimes not even medicine. He practiced medicine in the countryside all the year round to relieve the suffering of the people. Until 1959, he was transferred to Gukeng health care hospital as a doctor. He died in October 1984. His posthumous works include "clinical notes" and "prescriptions of internal medicine and Gynecology".
