Lai Junjun, a native of Ningxiang, Hunan Province, was born into an ordinary peasant family. With a love of music and the full support of his parents, he walked step by step from a poor mountain village to the county town, into a big city and came to the capital Beijing.
Since he was small, weak and sick, he always insisted on practicing folk singing regardless of his physical weakness. Because his family was poor, he could not find a professional teacher to learn, so he had to listen to the tape by himself. Under the guidance of his mother, who knew nothing about music, he insisted on practicing every day. In 2002, he finally won the third prize in the original song competition of "song of Changsha" in Hunan Province for his "flying song of Changsha", thus formally embarking on the road of music learning.
In 2005, he came to Beijing to study and work alone.
