Liu chuhua, female, is a senior guqin music instructor in Hong Kong. She has also taught Guqin lessons in the Music Department of the Hong Kong Academy for performing arts and the Chinese University.

Character experience

As early as when I was studying Chinese literature and philosophy in University, I had a strong interest in Chinese traditional music. He used to play a variety of string instruments, but later he abandoned his previous studies and focused on Qin Dao. In the early 1970s, Liu followed Cai Deyun, a Hong Kong based pianist, to learn the piano. For more than 20 years, she has been influenced by her moral cultivation. In the 1980s, she traveled to the mainland and visited famous artists. She was personally instructed by the late Mr. Zhang Ziqian and Mr. Yao Bingyan of Zhejiang School. Since then, she has broadened her academic vision and gradually formed her own performance style. Its performance features are pure and elegant sound, lively and sensitive fingertips, smooth and natural music interpretation, elegant temperament, and poetic fragrance in contentment, so that the listener can appreciate the quiet and vivid charm of Guqin music.

Main works

In 1996, she selected the traditional silk string with the famous Song Dynasty "Yiyun" Qin and recorded her personal Guqin album "Narcissus opera" for Longyin Production Co., Ltd., which makes the mellow and beautiful timbre of traditional Guqin reappear in this colorful sound world.
