Early experience

Tian Hua was born in a backward village in Hebei Province. His family was poor in childhood. He lost his mother when he was young, and his family was very poor. He had experienced the hardships of life. At the age of 12, Tian Hua left his hometown and joined the anti enemy drama club of the Jin Cha Ji military region of the Eighth Route Army. In 1955, Tian Hua entered the performance cadre training class of the Central Academy of drama for further study.

Acting experience

In 1940, he joined the anti enemy drama club of Jin Cha Ji military area of the Eighth Route Army. He often followed the club to various places for publicity and performance, and played roles in many dramas.

In 1950, Tian Hua was selected to play "Xi'er" in the Northeast film studio's remake of the drama "white haired girl" from the opera of the same name. This is her first time on the screen. With this film, Tian Hua won a gold medal from the Ministry of culture.

In 1958, Tian Hua played the role of fan Lingzhi in the historical film "a beautiful moon" adapted from Zhao Shuli's novel sanliwan. In 1980, Tian Hua starred in the documentary film "inside and outside the courtroom", playing the upright female Dean Shang Qin, who won the best actress nomination for the first Golden Rooster Award of Chinese film. In 1981, he played Yan Shaochun in the drama Xu Mao and his daughters.

In 1995, Tian Hua won the actress award of China Film century award at the commemorative Conference Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the birth of world film and the 90th anniversary of the birth of China film.

In 2008, he took part in director Jiang Ping's inspirational film "looking for Jackie Chan". In September 2009, he took part in the music and dance evening "road to rejuvenation" held to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of new China, and recited the poem "vision of the Strait" written by Ci writers Zhuang Nu and Qiao Yu together with Chen duo. In 2010, he guest starred in the new year comedy "quit smoking and never stop drinking" directed and performed by Zhu Shimao. On October 16, he attended the 30th mass film hundred flowers award ceremony of the 19th Golden Rooster Hundred Flowers Film Festival and won the lifetime achievement award of the 30th mass film Hundred Flowers Award.

In June 2011, he participated in the performance of "our flag" at the gala party celebrating the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. In September, he took part in the tender film "flying over the old people's home" directed by Zhang Yang.

On January 16, 2014, he took part in the performance of "hundred flowers welcome the Spring Festival -- the Spring Festival Party of Chinese literature and art circles" and recited the lines of the film "Xu Mao and his daughters".

Personal life

Tian Hua's family lost four relatives because of cancer. In 2017, while participating in a certain program, his son also suffered from cancer and died.
