Xiao Yufen first participated in the singing competition program "new singers of the 21st century" held by Sanli Taiwan from 1993 to 1999, referred to as "new singers list". Through this program, Xiao Yufen and four other children formed "little girls of Southern Taiwan" in 1996. "Little girl from South Taiwan" was once very popular.

In 2000, four people, except you Zihan, released their first Mandarin album magic under the English group name "p.g.s.t." the next year, they reorganized the team and renamed it "Miss South Taiwan".
