Liu xiaogeng, formerly known as Liu Hongjun, was born in 1955 in Luquan, Yunnan Province and a composer. He graduated from the Music Department of Yunnan Art College in 1982 and is now an associate professor of the Department. He was the executive director of Yunnan Music Association and deputy director of music creation Committee.

The solo work "brother with the back of the sun" won the first prize of national voice in 1990.
