In 1981, she graduated from Dalian University of Finance and economics. Her husband is Wang Sheng, a former player of Dalian Shide team. After the divorce, her four-year-old daughter was raised by Wang Sheng, who later broke up with Olympic gymnastics champion Xiao Qin after giving birth to a son in mid-2010.

Wang Ti, whose father works as an individual mechanical and electrical installation engineer, and whose mother is a bank clerk, retired at the time of the crime. In October 2008, they had an affair with Olympic gymnast Xiao Qin and became his fiancee. They broke up after having a son in mid-2010.

In June 2012, Wang Ti was arrested and accused of conspiring with Zhu Shuangshuang from 2007 to January 2011 to fabricate a false identity to buy low-cost commercial housing. She rented a number of houses in Xinghewan, Gongyuan Avenue and other residential areas in Beijing, pretending to be houses for sale, and defrauding 27 people, including sports celebrities Zou Kai, Yang Wei, Yang Yun, Luo Xuejuan and film and television celebrities Wang Likun, of more than 55 million yuan and 22 Hong Kong dollars 80000 yuan. Due to the failure to deliver the real estate, part of the fraud money was returned, resulting in a total loss of more than 34 million yuan and more than 2 million Hong Kong dollars to the buyer. In addition, from September 2010 to January 2011, Wang Ti fabricated the fact that she could buy a car at a low price, defrauding Wu He, Liang Lusheng and other six people of a total of 3.73 million yuan, and defrauding four people of a total of 8.06 million yuan.

In late December 2013, Beijing second intermediate court sentenced Wang Ti to life imprisonment for fraud.
