Pan EQing, a Pipa player, was born in 1952 in a Pipa family in Shanghai. His grandfather Shen haochu was a Pipa master of Pudong school. He once wrote yangzhengxuan Pipa score.

Pan e-qing received his elder brother pan Yabo's music enlightenment when she was six years old. As a teenager, she came to the fore and won the first prize in Shanghai Children's competition. In 1978, he was admitted to the Chinese Film Orchestra and studied with famous Pipa players such as Lin Shicheng, Qin pengzhang and Xia rengen. In addition to his own hard training, he has significantly improved his skills and artistic level of performance. Beautiful pronunciation, pure and mellow sound quality, clear and full wheel fingers, full of penetrating power, sonorous and forceful play, good at detailed depiction of music. In 1980, he won the first prize in the competition of literature and art groups directly under the central government sponsored by the Ministry of culture of the people's Republic of China; in the national Pipa competition held in the same year, he won the first prize in the performance of new works; in 1982, he won the first prize in the pipa group of excellent performance award; in 1986, he was rated as one of the first batch of top performers of the whole country by the Ministry of culture of the people's Republic of China, He has visited more than 20 countries and regions such as Spain, Belgium, the United States, Switzerland, Canada, France, Germany, Iceland, Japan, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Taiwan, etc., and participated in the Hong Kong China Music Festival Performance and lectures with the Chinese musicians group, which has caused a sensation in the local area and has been praised as the most outstanding Pipa player in recent years by newspapers and periodicals. He is now a member of China Musicians Association, China filmmakers Association and executive director of China National Orchestra Society.
