Idiom explanation
Guo and Yu: the names of Zhou Dynasty. In 655 B.C., the Duke of Jin Xiangong pretended to be the state of Daoyu and set out to attack the state of Guo. After exterminating Guo, he returned to his master and exterminated Yu.
Idiom story
In the spring and Autumn period, in 655 BC, Duke Xian of Jin used jade and BMW to bribe the king of the state of Yu according to the stratagem of xunxi, the Minister of Jin, to attack the state of Guo. King Yu did not listen to the advice of his minister Gong Zhiqi and let the state of Jin pass by. Three years after Jin destroyed Guo, he returned to his master and destroyed the state of Yu.
