Gaolong Township
Gaolong township is located in the southeast of Lianxi District, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, bordering Poyang Lake in the East, Lushan Mountain in the west, Haihui town of Lushan city in the South and Jiujiang City Center in the north. It is a subtropical area with pleasant climate and abundant rainfall. It is only 20 kilometers away from Jiujiang City, Jiujiang airport, Jiujiang wharf and Jiujiang railway station. With a total area of 40 square kilometers, the township has jurisdiction over two town neighborhood committees, five administrative villages and a population of 15000.
Evolution of organizational system
In 1957, it belonged to Lushan Administration Bureau. Gaolong commune was established in 1958 and changed to township in 1984. In 1997, it covers an area of 40 square kilometers and has a population of 11000. It governs six administrative villages: Wuxing, Gaolong, Shuanglong, yinmen, Gushan and Qingshan. On December 25, 2001, Gaolong township was abolished and transferred to Haihui town. In May 2016, according to the spirit of the reply of the State Council on approving Jiangxi Province to adjust some administrative divisions of Jiujiang City (Guo Han [2016] No. 58), Jiangxi provincial government issued a notice on adjusting some administrative divisions of Jiujiang City after research. Xingzi County was abolished and Lushan city at county level was established. Lushan District of Jiujiang City was renamed Lianxi district. From Haihui Town, Lianxi District, Jiujiang City, there are seven village (neighborhood) committees, including Gaolong, Lushan cement plant, Wuxing, Shuanglong, yinmen, Gushan and Qingshan. Gaolong Township, Lianxi District, Jiujiang City is established, and the township government is stationed in Gaolong neighborhood committee.
