A brief introduction to the remaishan of Naxi Nationality

Rumeisan is a primitive collective song and dance of Naxi people, which has been handed down for thousands of years. It is popular in Dadong Township, northeast of Bazi, the ancient city district of Lijiang City, Yunnan Province, including the high mountains to the east of Yulong Snow Mountain, the west of Jinsha River and the small valley along the river. "Remaishan" is a Chinese phonetic record in Nashi language. There is no clear written record of the historical evolution of remaishan of Naxi nationality. According to the comparative study of songs and dances in Lijiang area by he Shiwen and others, it is very similar to "Wo rere" which is still kept in Ninglang side of Jinsha River Valley.

The Naxi nationality's hot beauty is a complete combination of poetry, song and dance. When performing, men and women sing together and dance together. There is no need for any props and there is no limit to the number of participants. The number of participants is less than ten and more than hundreds. Men, women, old and young hand in hand around the fire in a clockwise direction while singing and dancing, the dance action is simple and natural, singing almost shouting, but each participant must be in harmony with other people's rhythm in singing and dancing. There is no decoration in the dance movement of remetso, and the music is the sound of nature from the chest and throat, so it is impossible to record accurately for learning. Naxi people should learn the techniques of remetso from their childhood through the oral instruction of their elders and long-term practice, and improvise under the stimulation of the scene.

It has a long history and rich connotation. It has an obvious influence on Lijiang ancient music and Naxi Classical Music Suite Baisha Xile. It has research value in ethnology, art and history and culture. At present, the inheritance of Naxi remeichan is facing great difficulties and needs to be rescued and protected.
