A brief introduction to Fanshan hinge:
Applicant: Pingchang County, Sichuan Province
Fanshanzuozi is a kind of male dance, which is mainly spread in Pingchang County of Sichuan Province, waving and hitting the bronze cymbal "Zuozi". The hinge was originally used by the Pingchang wizard, commonly known as "Duangong". When the local residents encountered a disaster, they would ask the wizard to strike the hinge to amuse the ghosts and gods with funny or beautiful movements. In the late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty, fanshanjiaozi was very popular in Pingchang. By the end of the Qing Dynasty, fanshanzuozi had been widely used in wedding, birthday and other wedding occasions, and gradually formed the current dance style.
According to the length of the hinge rope, it can be divided into "long rope hinge" and "short rope hinge". Its playing method includes more than 40 movements, basically no more than four ways of playing, rubbing, turning and turning. Most of the movements are labeled with visualized names, such as "bright wings in white room", "willow in wind", "shell drying of tuanyu", "belly drying of frog", "flower in plain ground", "archery on horse", and so on.
During the performance, the hinge hands (performers) should wave the double hinges in accordance with the beat to make them collide with each other and make a sound. From time to time, they should lengthen or shorten the rope tied on the hinge, and sometimes swing the hinge over the head, and then turn it around the waist and legs, so as to hit the hinge in different parts and show various beautiful dancing postures and shapes. The whole performance is flexible, vigorous and rough in style, cheerful and lively.
Fanshanzuozi is a very unique form of performance in Han nationality dance, which reflects the social life and cultural customs of Ba people to a certain extent. It is an important reference material for the study of Ba culture and Chinese dance history. At present, the survival situation of Fanshan hinge is poor, and there is no one to inherit it. It has become an urgent task to rescue and protect it.
