Wanrong flower drum is a traditional folk dance popular in Nanjing Village of Wanrong county. According to the stele of Xingcun in Nanjing Village in 1669, the eighth year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty, "Huagu is a folk social fire, composed of seven, eight and nine people. The female player holds the Gong, the phoenix head and the snake body. The male player is the waist drum, the snake body and the dragon body. The music is smooth."

Wanrong flower drum has three forms of performance: the first is low drum, which is waist drum; the second is high drum, which is chest drum; the third is multi drum, which is tied on the dancer's head, chest, shoulder and between the two legs. At most, one person can tie more than ten drums.

There are a lot of Flower Drum Dance covers, including a little oil, wind stirring snow, dry fried beans, dog biting, Phoenix nodding three times, as well as two hammers, tight three hammers, four hammers, five hammers, walking round the court, dragon swinging tail, waist pulling, leg pulling, knee twisting, as well as "lion rolling embroidered ball", "Qin Qiong carrying sword" and "phoenix spreading wings".

Wanrong flower drum with a long history has strong local characteristics and important cultural value, which has a far-reaching influence. In recent years, due to the development of social economy, young people go out to work, few people are willing to learn to play flower drum, and most of the old flower drum artists are old, so flower drum art is facing the inheritance crisis.
