Lusheng dance is a traditional folk dance performed by Miao people when they hold ancestor worship, festivals and festive activities. It originated from the ritual dance of praying for harvest before sowing, thanking gods and offering sacrifices to ancestors after harvest. It is widely popular in Miao areas. The Miao Lusheng dance in Guizhou is mainly distributed in Leishan, Guanling, Rongjiang, Shuicheng and other places. Lusheng dance, with a warm and cheerful atmosphere, has become a spontaneous dance performed by the Miao people during the leisure period from rice harvest to spring sowing in the next year.

The dance music and steps of Lusheng dance are similar in different places. According to the content, Lusheng dance music can be divided into ritual music, narrative music, march music, song style music and dance music. Lusheng dance can be divided into three forms: the accompaniment dance, the leading dance and the self dance. The accompaniment dance and the leading dance can be divided into seven, nine, eleven or more people. The people who play the Lusheng dance do not dance or dance in the presence of small and medium-sized dance. The surrounding men and women dance around each other, and the scene is magnificent. The movements of Lusheng dance can be summarized as walking, moving, crossing, turning, standing, kicking, parting, hooking, turning and so on. These movements are solemn and solemn, vivid and compact, bright and free, or light and agile, reflecting the diverse life and cultural forms of the Miao people.

Gunzhong Miao Lusheng dance takes gunzhong Miao village as the center, and is distributed in some areas of Bakai, Leli, Pingyong, Tashi, Xinghua and other towns in Rongjiang County, Guizhou Province. There are many kinds of Lusheng and tunes in the performance. The timbre is loud and clear, the male action is warm and cheerful, and the female action is elegant and light. It is unique in Guizhou Miao Lusheng dance. Lusheng dance of Miao Nationality in Shuicheng, also known as "Qingji dance", is a collective competitive dance performed by Miao compatriots at a gathering. It comes from the experience of Miao "laopu" in national struggle and production life. The dance performed by Lusheng hands of Xiaohua Miao branch in Nankai township of Shuicheng County is the most representative.

At present, this unique form of folk dance is facing the dilemma of lack of successors and on the verge of loss, which is in urgent need of rescue and protection.
