Brief introduction to the Qiangmu of zhashlunbu temple in Shigatse
Applicant: Tibet Autonomous Region
Qiang Mu is a kind of religious dance, also known as "Tiaoshen". "Semoqinmuqiangmu" is a Tibetan Buddhist Gelug Qiangmu performed by the monks of zhashlunbu temple in Xigaze, Tibet. In Tibetan, "Semo" means to watch, "Chinm" means to be large-scale, "Semo Chinm Qiangmu" means to watch large-scale religious dance.
In 1617 (the tenth year of raojiehuo snake in Tibetan calendar), the fourth Panchen Lama, luosangqujijianzan, established the "abazacang" (Micheng monastery); in 1647 (the eleventh year of raojiehuo dog in Tibetan calendar), the master referred to the calendar year of Sangye temple when he was 78 years old
The "eight names of lianhuasheng" dance held in the "quzu" religious festival formulates the ritual of exorcism and disaster prevention for the Dharma protector "chibala" (the follower of the six armed Ming king and one of the gods guarding the east of the world), and establishes the "Guduo" (exorcism) Qiangmu, which is the predecessor of semojim Qiangmu, performed on December 29 of the Tibetan calendar every year. In 1862, the seventh Panchen danbainima went to Lhasa many times to participate in the related rituals and activities, and became interested in the religious rules of the former Tibetan temples. After returning, he built the new palace deqinggesanpozhang in zashilunbu temple, which was absorbed and used for reference from the Qiangmu of Lamu, Caigongtang, luoza, danjielin, Muru, cijuelin and other temples On the basis of "Guduo" of the original abazacang performance, semojinmuqiangmu was formally established, and the performance was performed by the monks of zigongzacang, which has continued to this day.
As a rare sacrificial dance in Tibetan Buddhist temples, the Qiangmu of zhashlunbu temple has high research value.
