Introduction to Yingge (Jiazi Yingge)

Jiazi Yingge is a traditional dance popular in Jiazi Town, Lufeng City, Shanwei City. As a local folk worship activity, it was introduced into Jiazi town of Lufeng from Fujian in the early Ming Dynasty. At the end of the Ming Dynasty, some martial arts practitioners introduced the Yingge dance from Fujian Province to the local martial arts teachers to form a unique style of Jiazi Yingge dance. In Lantern Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid Autumn Festival and other occasions, English songs and dances are performed.

Jiaziyingge is a line dance, which is divided into four ranks: Yiqi, wuyingge, Xiaoxi and shouldering the big flag. Yingge dancers hold two hammers and move forward as they dance. At the same time, the two flower drum women stepped on the shoulder of the flower drum male, danced sticks with both hands, and walked around with the British song and dance team.
