Applicant: Xiapu County, Fujian Province
Novels and songs of She nationality originated in bailukeng village, Hounan Town, Xiapu County, Fujian Province. Bailukeng is the most densely populated and cultural area of She nationality, which can be called the first village in East Fujian. Novel songs originated in the Qing Dynasty. At first, some of the she singers who could read adapted Han chapter novels and Pinghua libretto into oral and handwritten versions of their own folk songs. Later, on the basis of the heroic deeds spread by their own nation, they created some works, such as gaohuangge, liqige, zhongliangbi, etc The biography of the White Snake, the songs of the ten sages, Zhong Jingqi, and LAN Dianyu are the songs of novels. As a long story song, novel song is a unique literary style and cultural carrier created by she people.
In terms of its content, most of the novels and songs of She nationality are based on the stories spread in Chinese folk opera and quyi, which are different from the daily miscellaneous songs of She nationality. Its basic poetic features are as follows: 1. Strong narrative and storyline; 2. Rigorous structure and composition. Each chapter is composed of many single songs, with four lines and seven characters in each line, which is similar to the "seven Jue" in Chinese; 3. Artistic processing of characters with various techniques; 4. The author's signature is cleverly hidden at the end of the song.
Because of the rich content, various forms, lively language, harmonious rhyme, no allusion, no exaggeration and whitewash, and the integration of narration, chanting things and lyricism, the songs of She nationality novels are widely recognized by the people of She nationality. It is not only the essence of she folk songs, but also the most representative form of cultural expression and the most distinctive art category in eastern Fujian. Novel songs play an important role in the cultural and literary history of the She nationality, and are a progressive product of the cultural development of the She nationality.
The late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China were the heyday of novel songs, with many singers. There are 130 manuscripts and 130 oral novels. Zhong Changyao, the living successor of the king of songs, not only sings and spreads songs, but also collects folk songs. At present, he has collected more than 160 she songs with more than 1 million words, and has sorted out more than 500 songs, including novel songs. However, Zhong Changyao is now 73 years old and needs successors to continue his career. At present, the number of inheritors of novel songs is decreasing, while the creation of novel songs has basically stopped, and the related rescue and protection work needs to be carried out.
