Tujia daliuzi is one of the most popular ancient folk instrumental ensemble in Tujia area. It has a long history, many tunes, exquisite skills and rich expression. It is a unique art form of Tujia.
Daliuzi of Tujia nationality is mainly distributed in 68 townships of Yongshun, Longshan, Baojing and Guzhang, which are inhabited by Tujia Nationality in Youshui valley of Xiangxi Prefecture. The Tujia people's daliuzi is closely related to the Tujia people's life. The Tujia people's marriage and birthday can't do without daliuzi. The Tujia people need daliuzi in the new year's festival, especially in the traditional Sheba day. The daoliuzi band, composed of Liuzi Gong, toucymbal, erhu and mahuo, can integrate the skills of various musical instruments and give full play to the performance skills of each instrument. There are about 100 Tujia Liuzi Qupai, whose contents can be divided into three categories: drawing sound, drawing spirit and drawing meaning. In addition, there are dozens of representative songs, such as Anqing, Yingfeng, bage bath, thrush jump pole, Shuanglong out of the hole, yanpai wing, Gushu Pang, twisted transplanting, etc Traditional repertoire. In China's minority instrumental music art, the unique combination and exquisite performance skills of daliuzi form its own system, which is a great representative. Since 1949, daliuzi has been introduced to the United States, Germany, Poland, Russia and other countries by national art groups, which has produced strong repercussions and caused a huge sensation.
