Among them, percussion instruments include drum (Dagu, Tanggu, bangu, Shugu, Zhangu, etc.), Bangzi (Muyu, mubang, Zhubang, etc.), Gong (Daguo, Xiaoluo, Suluo, Masuo, Jingluo, Yunluo, huyinluo, etc.), cymbal (Dagao, xiaocymbal, chuancymbal, xiaojingcymbal, etc.), silk string includes erhu, Jinghu, Sixian, etc., suona includes soprano suona and zhongtone suona, and tuba And so on. The commonly used repertoire are folk song tune, Liuzi liuban, Zhenggong liuban, Chunlai, wannianhuan, etc.
After years of development and evolution, Zhijiang folk percussion music has formed a common, practical and regional performing custom. It is mainly played in folk weddings, funerals, weddings, various celebrations, labor and year-end celebrations to match folk art forms such as dance.
Zhijiang folk percussion music is divided into "rough music" played by percussion instrument combination and "fine music" mixed with suona, dizi, erhu, Jinghu and silk string instruments in percussion instrument performance. Rough music is also called Wuchang, and fine music is also called Wenchang. According to the technical schools, Zhijiang folk percussion music can be divided into two schools: Shanghe (also known as Jinghe) and Xiahe; according to the region, it can be divided into Nanhe and Beihe.
Zhijiang folk percussion music emphasizes the complete combination of ten kinds of "family business" (musical instruments), and absorbs Zhijiang local folk music elements such as folk songs, field songs, five sentences and minor, forming the technical types and style of "Shifan drum", with strong local characteristics.
After several ups and downs of development, Zhijiang folk percussion music has been endangered for several times, but with the efforts of the local government and cultural departments, it has been well inherited and protected, and has become a wonderful flower of folk music in Southwest Hubei. In 2000, Zhijiang City was officially named "the hometown of Chinese folk art" and "the hometown of folk percussion music" by the Ministry of culture.
