Introduction to Shifan music (Hakka Shifan music in West Fujian)
Applicant: Longyan City, Fujian Province
Shifan music, also known as "Shiban" and "wudui", is named after ten musical instruments made of silk, bamboo, leather, wood and gold. Hakka Shifan music is a folk instrumental music inherited by Hakka folk artists in the past dynasties. Its music titles mostly depict the nature and Hakka people's life customs and interests, such as "the end of blue water mountain", "the color of lake and willow", "the full moon of good flowers", "plum orchid and chrysanthemum bamboo", "Yingge Yanwu" and so on. In addition, Hakka Shifan music also absorbed the quduan, Aria and quyi works from the operas of the past dynasties.
There are no strict rules on the number of musicians and musical instruments used by the Hakka Shifan band in Western Fujian. A Shifan band usually has five to seven musicians and ten to dozens of musicians.
The most basic musical instruments of Hakka Shifan music are Qudi, Luguan, pipa, Sanxian, erhu, xiaopanghu, dafuanhu, Jiaban, etc. flute is the leading instrument. Hakka Shifan music can be performed in two ways: sitting and walking, with the conductor holding the board. Flute leads the way (leading), and the writing field and martial arts field are carried out at intervals.
At present, the Hakka Shifan music in the west of Fujian is in the situation of lack of successors, which is in urgent need of rescue and protection.
