Salar wedding is the most important ritual activity in Salar's life etiquette. The traditional wedding ceremony of Salars is held in the middle of winter every year. From engagement to wedding ceremony, it takes more than half a year to go through several procedures, such as blind date, sending matchmaker, sending engagement tea, dowry, reading marriage Sutra, sending marriage and returning home. In Salar wedding, there are still some ancient Turkic wedding customs, such as offering "yangbeizi". These customs have disappeared in the lives of the descendants of the Turks, but they have been inherited in the Salar customs, which are far away from the Turkic cultural circle in time and space. Therefore, they are living fossils for the study of ancient Turkic culture.

The "Duiwei oina" preserved in Salar's wedding is a folk dance with certain drama characteristics, which takes the traditional education of national migration history as the main content. It was still preserved in the wedding before the 1950s. However, due to the social change and the shortening of marriage period, this form of expression no longer exists, and only some elderly people still have memories.

There are detailed records of Salar wedding ceremony in Xunhua Zhi compiled in Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty. In the past 200 years, the whole wedding ceremony procedure has not changed much, and the inheritance system is relatively complete, which is of great value to the study of Salar cultural history.
