Introduction to Quanfeng lantern

Quanfeng lantern is an art performance activity in Quanfeng town of Xiushui, Jiangxi Province, which is between lantern, opera and dance. Its main feature is the performance of Lantern team, which has a strong folk color. During the Spring Festival, all kinds of lanterns gather in the countryside, from the first day of the new year to the Lantern Festival. In addition, folk festivals, Shoushou, Shangliang and weddings all invite lanterns to make a scene.

Quanfeng has eight lanterns (also known as basin lanterns). The lanterns have eight special effects, which are known as: Aunt pushing the mill, mouse attacking the beam, bangs playing the boat, monkey fighting, Rengui carving, sisters watching the flowers, Dongbin carrying the sword, and Zhang San fighting the tiger. All of them are playing performances. There are six long colored lanterns in each corner of the venue, accompanied by lantern music. Huadeng's rap and singing all use the genuine Xixiang Quanfeng dialect. Festival Lantern door-to-door performance, first of all to send "lamp paste" to inform each other. When we set out, we opened the way with the sign of "Celebrating the entertainment lantern of XX". All the way, the colorful lights were shining high and the gongs and drums were noisy. Lantern teams are active in remote areas, high mountains and dense forests. They don't need stage or curtain. They can perform in fields, grasslands, halls and courtyards anytime and anywhere. They are happy for the people in mountainous areas and send a peaceful and happy atmosphere to the people in mountainous areas.

There are more than 20 lantern teams in Quanfeng Town, the most active of which are Tangcheng Street (where the town is located), Longquan section, Huangsha section, ludouwo, huangpaochong, shanshuping, Shangyuan, etc. Each lantern team has gongs and drums, costumes, props and other equipment. The youngest of the performers is 16 years old, and the oldest is more than 70 years old. They all have certain singing and performing ability. There are more than 1200 people in Longquan section, and 70% of them can sing lantern, which shows the popularity. Now Cao Zemin, the main inheritor, has been singing lantern for three generations.
