In the third year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1575), after she moved to Taishun, she folk songs took root in the mountain city. The folk songs of She nationality in Taishun County, Zhejiang Province are characterized by light tone and soft language. Although this tune is similar to Zhejiang Fujian tune (referring to the Shang mode of eastern Fujian, southern Zhejiang and Western Zhejiang), it shows its unique personality in range and tone due to different languages.

The she folk songs in Taishun can be divided into three categories: traditional folk songs, revolutionary folk songs and new folk songs. The folk songs of She nationality in Taishun, like those in other areas, are mainly in the form of "duel song" (or "Pan song"). Whenever there are wedding celebrations or guests coming from afar, the She people will gather in the kitchen or hall to duel. No matter men and women, old and young, everyone is proud to win the duel. They talk with each other, make friends with each other and express their feelings with songs. Another feature of "Dui Ge" is Impromptu Composing and singing, which makes the theme of songs varied. Its lyrics are simple and natural, fresh and lively, full of mountain and forest atmosphere, reflecting the customs and characteristics of She nationality in Taishun. With the inheritance of she language from generation to generation, she people love to sing she songs, and there are many excellent singers such as Lei Zixin, Lei juntu, Lei Shengtai and so on.
