Introduction to Jun porcelain firing technique:
Applicant: Yuzhou City, Henan Province
Jun porcelain is one of the five famous porcelains of the Song Dynasty, Jun, Ru, Guan, GE and Ding. It was founded in the Tang Dynasty and flourished in the Northern Song Dynasty. Its unique kiln changing technique is unique in Chinese ceramic firing technology.
During the Huizong period of the Northern Song Dynasty, the government set up official kilns in the northeast of Yuzhou City, Henan Province, to make tribute porcelain for the imperial palace. Because the kiln site is close to Juntai in the spring and Autumn period and Warring States period, it is called "Juntai kiln" for short, and the porcelain produced is also called "Jun porcelain". After the fall of the Northern Song Dynasty, Jun kiln stopped burning. With the spread of Jun kiln craftsmen, Jun porcelain firing skills gradually spread all over the country. During the Jin and Yuan Dynasties, Jun porcelain was imitated in Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Guangdong, Shanxi and other places. However, due to the raw materials and other factors, its artistic achievements could not match those of the Song Dynasty official kilns
Compared with other products. In Ming and Qing Dynasties, Jun porcelain production developed slowly. After the founding of new China, Jun porcelain production entered a comprehensive recovery period. Lu Guangdong and Lu Guangwen of the Ren family and Lu family of Jun porcelain family contributed to the development of Jun porcelain.
The reason why Jun porcelain is so valuable is that in addition to its rich and dignified shape, there are two outstanding aspects: one is that Jun porcelain will appear kiln change phenomenon in firing, and the glaze containing copper will form crabapple red, cinnabar red, chicken blood red and other glaze colors after kiln change, which will infiltrate each other and reflect each other, which is called "one color in the kiln, ten thousand colors out of the kiln"; the other is the manufacturing technology of Jun porcelain
Complex, low yield, a Jun porcelain from material selection to firing need to go through 72 processes.
In recent years, with the promotion of mechanized technology in the ceramic industry and the application of natural gas furnace and electric furnace, the traditional Jun porcelain firing technology is declining day by day. The cultural connotation and artistic quality of Jun porcelain are declining. It is urgent to protect the traditional Jun porcelain firing technology.
