Brief introduction of Dehua porcelain firing technology:
Applicant: Dehua County, Fujian Province
Dehua county is located in the middle of Fujian Province. There are two ways to make Dehua porcelain: one is to use high-quality kaolin to shape directly, the other is to turn the mold and then grouting or rubbing. Dehua porcelain usually needs to decide whether to glaze after the adobe is dry, and then it is put into the kiln and fired at a high temperature of more than 1000 ℃.
The production of Dehua porcelain flourished in Tang and Song Dynasties and flourished in Ming and Qing Dynasties. Its unique technique has not been broken. It has always been an important foreign trade product of our country. Together with silk and tea, it is well-known in the world and has contributed to the spread of porcelain technology and cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries. In the Ming Dynasty, Dehua porcelain artist he Chaozong used the local high-quality kaolin to make exquisite Dehua porcelain sculptures by using eight techniques, such as kneading, molding, carving, scraping, joining and pasting, which were collected by European countries for their unique artistic style. Dehua porcelain, known as "Oriental art treasure", was exported to Europe in Qing Dynasty. After the late Qing Dynasty, Dehua porcelain industry went from bad to worse, but artists such as Su Xuejin and Xu Youyi still adhered to this industry, and their works won gold medals at international expositions in Panama, Britain and Japan. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Dehua porcelain industry has gained a new life and a large number of new talents have emerged. They have inherited the excellent techniques and styles of their predecessors and made continuous innovation and development, so that Dehua porcelain firing skills are rejuvenated.
In recent years, due to the change of lifestyle and the influence of foreign culture, most young people are reluctant to join in this traditional industry with long learning cycle and slow effect. Nowadays, most of the artists are about 60 years old, and some of them are worried about the loss of skills. It is urgent for the relevant parties to pay attention to and support them.
