The long stories in Xibo folk stories reflect the historical development process of Xibo people from Xianbei ancestors to the clan tribal society in the era of tuobaqu, blend the peculiar scenes of northeast region and Xibo folk customs, reflect the historical facts and conditions of Xibo ancestors' society, and show the evolution process of national psychology.

Xibo folk stories have special value that other Xibo literature can't match. They fill in the blank of Xibo literature which does not reflect the national history systematically and profoundly. They have important historical, cultural and scientific value.

With the change of people's life style, the inheritance of Xibo folk stories has gradually declined, and the protection work is urgent.
