A brief introduction to the legend of the first ancestor of the Luoba Nationality:
Applicant: Milin County, Tibet Autonomous Region
Luoba, translated into Tibetan, means "southerner". Luoba nationality is mainly distributed in Milin County, Motuo County and Chayu County of Tibet Autonomous Region, with a total population of more than 2800. Among them, the population of Luoba nationality in Milin county is more than 1600. The Luoba people are divided into Kaluo (the Luoba people near the Tibetan area) and dingluo (the Luoba people far away from the Tibetan area). The Luoba people in Milin County belong to Kaluo.
According to the legend of Bogar tribe in Milin County, Tibet, after the combination of heavenly Father and earth mother, Jindong gave birth to Jindong, Jindong gave birth to Dongri, and Dongri gave birth to two sons, Rini and riluo, namely abadani and abadaluo. Abadani is the ancestor of the Luoba nationality, and abadaluo is the ancestor of the Tibetan nationality. Abadani married donihaiyi, the daughter of the sun, and bred many tribes and animals, insects, poultry, wind demons, frogs, flies, bamboo girls, rock girls, etc., and formed a clan with animals, bamboo and rock as totems. After frequent Clan Wars, it promoted the formation and consolidation of tribal alliance. The legend also describes the origin of seeds, the agricultural civilization under slash and burn cultivation, and the great migration of tribes.
The Luoba people have no words of their own, and their legends and historical stories can only be passed on orally from generation to generation. Among them, a series of stories, such as praising the industrious virtues, fine traditions and social achievements of the ancestors of the Luoba people, are the most representative, and gradually form the legend of the ancestors of the Luoba people (the legend of abadani). The legend of the first ancestor of the Luoba nationality is the most widely spread and influential myth of the Luoba nationality. According to the data we have collected, there are about ten typical legends of abadani in Bogar tribe.
