Jianhu acrobatic "Eighteen troupes" are distributed in Qingfeng town in the middle of Jianhu County, Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province. In history, there are 18 natural villages with Qingfeng as the axis, forming 18 circus groups. At the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty, 18 circus troupes in Jianhu traveled all over China and Southeast Asia. According to historical records, the acrobatics of the 18th troupe has been handed down for 12 generations. In the early Qing Dynasty, there were more than 200 "Baixi" artists in Jianhu, among which the top ten families, including Gao, Wan and Wu, had outstanding skills and a wide reputation.

The acrobatics of Jianhu No.18 troupe is a combination of vigorous, rough, soft and beautiful. It combines difficult skills with relaxed, lively and exquisite movements. It uses dance, gymnastics and other sister arts for reference to form a unique southern style acrobatics. The traditional acrobatic programs of Jianhu include "opponent's top bowl", "double steel wire", "rolling Cup", "high car kicking bowl", "double flower bed", "Dunhuang modeling", "face changing", "Spring River Flower Moon", etc.
