Introduction to plum blossom boxing

The full name of plum blossom boxing is "Ganzhi five style plum blossom pile boxing", which is named after the practice of pile. After landing drill, it is called "five style landing plum blossom pile boxing", commonly known as "plum blossom pile", "plum blossom boxing" or "plum blossom boxing".

Mainly spread in Henan, Hebei and Shandong and other places. In April of the 24th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1898), there was a record of plum blossom boxing in Weixian area in the General Administration's acceptance of Zhang Rumei, governor of Shandong Province. In the autumn of the 24th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, Zhao Sanduo, the successor of plum blossom boxing in Weixian County, together with Yan Shuqin, the successor of red boxing in Liyuantun (now Weixian county), Guanxian County, Shandong Province, gathered plum blossom boxing and red boxing to spread their knowledge, which was renamed "Yihe boxing". He held an uprising in Jiangzhuang racecourse and became an important force of the Boxer Movement.

The basic content of plum blossom boxing includes five forms, eight square steps, eight square Sanshou and so on. The origin of plum blossom boxing is still a subject to be studied. It is said that the history of Weixian plum blossom boxing can be traced back to the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty. At that time, a branch of plum blossom boxing surnamed Zhang from lijiazhai of Weixian moved to Weixian with Shanxi immigrants, and two branches of plum blossom boxing from houpingxiang first and then spread to Weixian. At present, Weixian plum blossom boxing is mainly composed of lijiazhai plum blossom boxing in Weixian county and Zou and Zhang (commonly known as "Dajia" and "Xiaojia") in Pingxiang. Plum blossom boxing in Weixian county is mainly distributed in Lizhai village, zhaizhuang village, Lizhuang village, zhangguanzhai village, Wuqiang, Beijing and Liangshan of Shandong Province.
