Uygur Dastan is the general name of Uygur narrative, which involves a wide range of content. According to the content and form, it can be divided into hero Dastan, love Dastan, historical Dastan and janamadastan, which are mainly spread in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

Dastan, a Uygur hero, has a long history, with major historical events and heroic legends as the theme, reflecting the battles between Uygur tribes and nationalities and the great achievements of the heroes in the form of poetry. The main content of Uygur love Dastan is to praise the faithful love of the hero and heroine, which reveals the tragic story caused by social interference in young people's marriage and love at that time. Uygur historical Dastan takes historical events and historical figures as the theme, praising the hero's dedication to the interests of the people. The representative works of Uygur Dastan include biography of Wugus, ARIF and sainaimu, nuozigum, etc.
