Gao'an Tea Picking Opera, formerly known as "Gao'an Sixian opera", is a traditional performing art based on the early folk art of Gao'an, such as lantern song, lantern color and Nuo dance, and absorbing the beneficial elements of local Ruihe opera, gongs and drums opera in Ming and Qing Dynasties. As one of the local operas in Jiangxi Province, Gao'an Tea Picking Opera has the artistic characteristics of "popular and vivid language, simple and clear tone, crisscross charm and simple and elegant performance".

Gao'an Tea Picking Opera is full of local flavor and life interest. In 1959, the traditional drama "four nine to see a younger sister" was highly praised by Mao Zedong, Liu Shaoqi, Zhou Enlai and other party and state leaders; in 1964, the modern drama "Xiao Baotou took office" caused a sensation in Shanghai; the traditional drama "Sun Cheng Da Jiu" won the highest national award twice; the modern drama "Mu Xiang Chang" won the national "five one project" award and "Wenhua new drama" award in 1995 He has performed in Beijing three times and won the special performance award of rare operas in the first China National Culture Expo.
