Introduction to sipingdiao

Sipingdiao was evolved from Huagu in Northern Jiangsu Province. It used to be known as "sipingdiao" among the people. Around 1930, sipingdiao changed from dressing up to performing in costumes.

Based on flower drum, sipingdiao absorbed a lot of artistic nutrition from other sister operas, forming an artistic style with strong regional characteristics. Women's voice is euphemistic and beautiful in its simplicity, while men's voice is high, bold and forthright with both hardness and softness.

Sipingdiao is widely spread in Henan, Shandong, Anhui and Jiangsu provinces. At present, there are two professional troupes in Henan, namely, sipingdiao troupe of Shangqiu City and sipingdiao troupe of fan County of Puyang City.

Sipingdiao is a kind of opera with a deep mass foundation. Chen Sanliang climbing hall, Xiao Baogong and dumb girl complaining are all popular with the masses. At the same time, due to the clear development process of sipingdiao from the beginning to the present, it is called "a miniature of the development of Chinese opera", which has a special position in Chinese opera art and is a wonderful flower in Chinese folk art.
