Bank of Xinjiang Co., Ltd., hereinafter referred to as Bank of Xinjiang, was officially approved by China Banking Regulatory Commission on October 10, 2016.

On January 10, 2012, the government work report of the fifth session of the 11th National People's Congress of Xinjiang Autonomous Region proposed the establishment of "Xinjiang bank" for the first time; on October 8 of the same year, the Standing Committee (enlarged) meeting of the Party committee of Xinjiang autonomous region made a clear plan on accelerating the reform and development of local financial institutions and promoting the establishment of Xinjiang bank; in February 2013, the people's Government of Xinjiang autonomous region reported the "relevant report" to the State Council In September of the same year, after coordinating the opinions of the people's Bank of China and the Ministry of finance, China Banking Regulatory Commission reported to the State Council the request to support the establishment of Xinjiang bank; on December 30, 2013, the State Council agreed that the government of Xinjiang Autonomous Region and BINGTUAN should jointly establish a local legal person bank in Xinjiang; on October 29, 2014, the people's Government of Xinjiang Autonomous Region established a local legal person bank in Xinjiang Huang Wei, chairman of the "leading group for the preparatory work of the Bank of Xinjiang", fully promoted the establishment of the Bank of Xinjiang; in August 2015, the preparatory work group of the Bank of Xinjiang was established.
