Gaochun prison

Gaochun prison is located in Gaochun District of Nanjing city. It was built in 1969 and was originally called the 17th labor reform and education detachment of Jiangsu Province. In 1994, it was renamed Gaochun prison of Jiangsu Province.

The prison has five detention areas and 14 functional departments. For a long time, we have adhered to the prison work policy of combining punishment with reform and taking reform as the purpose, closely focused on the general goal of creating a modern and civilized prison, and successfully completed all tasks of prison work.

Regulatory safety

Firmly establish a new regulatory safety concept, adhere to the "three defenses" of civil air defense, material defense and technical defense, and actively build a long-term regulatory safety mechanism. We should always regard fair and civilized law enforcement as the lifeline of prison work, adhere to fair, civilized and strict law enforcement, continuously deepen the work of making prison affairs public, implement "four openness" for commutation, parole and temporary execution outside prison, employ members of local people's Congress and CPPCC as supervisors of prison work style, actively implement the prison law enforcement appraisal system, and directly accept all criminals and their relatives and the whole society Supervision.

Educational reform

In accordance with the principles of individualized education, classified education and convincing people by reason, we should adopt the methods of combining collective education with individual education, and combining education in prison with social education. We should comprehensively carry out education in law and morality, policy prospects, culture and technology among criminals. While speeding up the ideological reform of criminals, we should also provide technical support for criminals' labor reform and employment after serving their sentences. We should actively carry out psychological correction and use modern educational means to help criminals completely correct their unhealthy psychology and thinking patterns. We should actively carry out social assistance, education and legal aid, promote the socialization of education and reform, and ensure that the rate of compliance with the law and the rate of improvement of criminals meet and exceed the prescribed requirements.

Adhering to the principle of political construction, high quality, strict management and preferential treatment, we have strengthened the revolutionary, standardized and knowledgeable construction of the prison police force, and actively cooperated with Nanjing Normal University, Jiangsu Police College and other institutions of higher learning to continuously improve the political quality, legal awareness and professional ability of the police force.

Under the correct leadership of the provincial bureau Party committee, through the scientific decision-making of the prison Party committee and the joint efforts of the whole prison police and staff, the prison work has achieved sustained, healthy and coordinated development, which has been unanimously affirmed by the higher authorities: in recent years, the prison has won the collective second class merit four times in a row, and has been rated as the "three good" team winning unit of the provincial prison system for three consecutive years by the Provincial Department of Justice Party committee ”It has been rated as "civilized unit of Jiangsu Province" by the spiritual civilization construction Steering Committee of the provincial Party Committee for two consecutive times.
