Chongming Dongping National Forest Park is located in the north central part of Chongming Island, the third largest island in China, 12 km away from the county (Nanmen port), with a total area of 5400 mu. It is the largest plain artificial forest in East China. Its predecessor is Dongping forest farm. It was built into a National Forest Park in 1993. Central leaders Jiang Zemin, Zhu Rongji, Wen Jiabao, Wu Bangguo, Huang Ju, etc. visited the park successively.

Scenic spot information

The park is featured by lush forest, clear lake water, singing birds and rich wild interest. It integrates forest sightseeing, conference tourism, rehabilitation, leisure, participatory entertainment and other functions. It is the best resort for people to "return to nature". The main tourist service facilities include a unique "crab" room type multifunctional leisure tourist center, a 500 square meter upstream water park, a forest restaurant with Chongming special dishes, a field tent, a forest hammock, a 20000 square meter beach swimming pool, and a youth camping base.
