Fengjing town

Jinshan District governs the town. It is located in the west of the region. The resident population was 86400 (2017). It has jurisdiction over 6 neighborhood committees and 23 administrative villages. No. 281, Qingfeng Road, is located at the junction of Shanghai and Zhejiang. Shanghai Hangzhou railway passes through here, which is the west gate of Shanghai

Historical evolution

It was called Fengjing town in Ming Dynasty. Xuande five years (1430), the town is divided into North and south, South Town is Jiashan, North Town is Huating. Fengjing city of Songjiang County in 1914, the 11th district in 1929, the Fifth District in 1935 and Fengjing District in 1949. In 1951, the southern half of the town was transferred from Jiashan County to Songjiang County. In 1957, Fengjing town (a county town) and Fengwei Township were set up respectively, and in 1966, they were assigned to Jinshan County. In 1993, Fengjing town and Fengwei Township were abolished and Fengjing town was established. It is adjacent to Xingta town in the East, Songjiang County and Qingpu County in the north, Jiashan County in Zhejiang Province in the South and West, and the town government is located in Fengjing. At the end of 1995, it covers an area of 54.34 square kilometers and has a population of 40600. It has jurisdiction over seven neighborhood committees including Qingfeng, Youhao, Zhongxin, Zhongxin, Wenhua, Heping and Xinfeng, and 20 administrative villages including Xinyuan, Zhonghong, Buyang, Yuhui, Xinchun, Miaogong, Nongxing, Qianming, Chang'an, Changzheng, Wangwei, Shengxin, Fengnan, Xinhua, Xinyi, Xujing, Mingxing, Yangyi, Changwu and Tuanxin. In 2004, it has jurisdiction over 6 neighborhood committees, including Heping, Zhongxin, Youhao, Xinfeng, Bainiu new village and Fengyang, and 13 administrative villages, including Xinyuan, Zhonghong, Yuhui, Xinchun, Nongxing, Qianming, Changzheng, Shengxin, Xinhua, Xinyi, Xinxin, Changwu and Tuanxin. In 2005, Fengjing town and Xingta town were abolished and a new Fengjing town was established.

Get honor

On May 13, 2020, it won the honorary title of civilized town of Shanghai from 2018 to 2019.

In August 2020, it will be included in the list of reconfirmed National Health towns (counties) in 2019.

geographical position

Fengjing town is located in the northwest of Jinshan District, bordering Zhujing Town, Xinbang town and Maogang town of Songjiang District in the East, Weitang Town and Yaozhuang town of Jiashan County in Zhejiang Province in the west, Xindai town of Pinghu City in Zhejiang Province in the South and Liantang Town of Qingpu District in the north. The town covers an area of 91.66 square kilometers. As a famous historical and cultural town in China, a national AAAA scenic spot and one of the "eight sceneries on new Shanghai", there are more than 30 ancient and modern cultural landscapes, such as Zhu xuefan's former residence, Cheng Shifa's ancestral residence, Ding Cong comic Gallery, the former site of people's Commune, three hundred gardens, Fengjing three bridges, Fengxi corridor, dingti workshop, huozhenghui, Jinpu house, Bainian osmanthus garden, Chinese farmers' painting village, Jinfeng distillery, etc.
