Anting Town

Anting Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Jiading District in Shanghai, was established in the Han Dynasty by the Qin Dynasty. The name of Anting is "ten li, one Pavilion, with Anting as the town". Anting town is located at the junction of Shanghai and Jiangsu, adjacent to Malu Town, Nanxiang Town and Huangdu town in the East, Huaqiao town of Kunshan City in Jiangsu Province in the west, Baihe Town of Qingpu District across Huning Expressway in the south, and Waigang Town, Juyuan New District and Jiading Industrial Zone in the North. In 1958, Anting town was officially planned as an industrial satellite town in Shanghai. In 1983, the people's Government of Anting township was established. In April 1987, Anting township was merged with the former Anting Town and the Anting Town People's government was established. In September 2000, the former establishment of Anting Town and Fangtai town was abolished and a new Anting town was established. In July 2009, with the approval of the municipal government, Anting Town and Huangdu town were abolished and a new Anting town was established.
