Tangyuan farm

Tangyuan farm, located in Tangyuan County, Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, is managed by Baoquanling Bureau of agricultural reclamation of Heilongjiang General Bureau of agricultural reclamation. Tangyuan farm is located in the southwest of Tangyuan county. The site is 3km away from Tangyuan county. Tangyuan farm is a military reclamation farm established by 8507 and 8509 units of the Chinese people's Liberation Army railway corps in Tangyuan County in 1956. It is named "state-owned 859 farm" and belongs to the Agricultural Reclamation Bureau of Mishan railway corps. In 1958, it was renamed "Tangyuan farm" and put under the leadership of Hejiang Bureau of land reclamation. In June 1968, it was changed into the 17th regiment of the second division of Heilongjiang production and Construction Corps. In 1971, the 17th regiment was transferred to the puyahe area at the junction of Luobei county and Suibin county to reclaim wasteland and build new sites. The farm where the 17th regiment was originally located was transferred to the 63rd regiment. In February 1976, the production and Construction Corps was abolished and the farm system was restored, still known as Tangyuan farm. It is under the administration of Baoquanling farm. Tangyuan farm is located in the North Bank of Songhua River, the lower reaches of Tangwang River and Liangzi river. The land area of the site is 163 square kilometers, including 125000 mu of cultivated land, with a high degree of agricultural mechanization. The main agricultural products are wheat, soybean, corn and so on. In 1992, the total grain output was 19300 tons. There are brick factory, grain and oil processing factory, wine factory, fruit cannery and so on. At the end of 1992, the total population was 6256. In July 1958, Ding Ling, a famous female writer who won the "Stalin literature" award, and her husband Chen Ming were sent to the farm to work for 12 years. They successively fed chickens in the animal husbandry team and acted as "literacy" teachers. Animal husbandry team has been rated as "literacy" advanced unit.
