Taoshan forestry bureau is under the jurisdiction of Tieli city (Yichun City) in the middle of Heilongjiang Province. It is located in the south of the west slope of Xiaoxing'an Mountains, the upper reaches of Hulan River. It is adjacent to dailing and Langxiang Forestry Bureau in the East, Tieli city and Shuangfeng Forestry Bureau in the west, Tieli Forestry Bureau in the north and Xinglong Forestry Bureau in the south. It is 48.5 km wide from east to west and 78.5 km long from north to south. Founded in 1960, the forestry bureau is a large state-owned forest industry enterprise under Yichun forestry administration. The construction area covers a total area of 171274 hectares with a population of nearly 50000. Binbei suijia Railway (Harbin Suihua Jiamusi) passes through the town. The Harbin Heshan expressway is only 18 km away from Taoshan, and the high-grade highway from Jixi to Nehe runs through the town for 70 km. The railway and highway transportation is very convenient.
