Dashan sheep farm

Dashan sheep breeding farm is a kind of animal husbandry farm directly under Heilongjiang Animal Husbandry Bureau. Located in the west of Heilongjiang Province, the East Bank of Nenjiang River, in duerbert Mongolian Autonomous County. The site is 51 kilometers east of the county. It was built in 1960.

It used to be the fourth branch of Dashan light horse breeding farm under the leadership of Heilongjiang Provincial Department of land reclamation. In 1966, it was changed into a state-owned Dashan horse breeding farm under the leadership of the Provincial Animal Husbandry Bureau. In 1968, it was transferred to duerbert Mongolian Autonomous County for management. In 1972, it was returned to the leadership of the Provincial Animal Husbandry Bureau and changed into Dashan breeding stock farm. In February 1981, it was changed into Dashan breeding sheep farm. In 1991, all the horses were transferred out. total population 2740 (2010). Dashan sheep breeding site is located in the hinterland of Songnen Plain and the left bank of Nenjiang River. The site is flat, with abundant water resources and good grass quality. The total area of the site is 196000 mu, including 116000 mu of grassland and sand dunes, 20000 mu of water surface and 30000 mu of cultivated land. Animal husbandry farm was famous for raising "aurovma" in China. After changing to sheep breeding, the breeding base of high-quality fine wool sheep has been built, mainly cultivating northeast high-quality fine wool sheep. The annual production turnover of sheep is more than 5000, the number of basic ewes is about 2000, and the number of breeding sheep is more than 5000. Each year, more than 800 breeding sheep and 1500 lambs can be provided to the society.
