Hongkeli Town, belonging to Yilan County, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, is located in the northeast of Yilan County, on the South Bank of Songhua River. It is adjacent to Dalai town of Jiamusi City in the East, Yugong Township in the south, Yilan town in the West and Zhulian township of Tangyuan County across the river in the north. In 2018, the area of Hong Keli town was 401.03 square kilometers, and the registered residence population was 24701.

Historical evolution

In the early Qing Dynasty, Dahu village was set up.

During the period of northeast occupied by the Japanese, hongkelibao was set up, and then hongkeli village was changed.

In 1945, it belonged to hongkeli District of Yilan County.

In 1960, it was renamed hongkeli commune.
