In 1996, it covers an area of 1.8 square kilometers and has a population of 2000. The office is located in Sandian street and has jurisdiction over the first and second neighborhood committees. In 2000, the population of Wupu was 4577. In 2004, it was under the jurisdiction of Songbei district.
