It is located in the south of Jingxing County, Hebei Province, adjacent to Yuanshi County in the East, Xiyang County and Zanhuang County in Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province in the south, Pingding County in Yangquan City, Shanxi Province in the west, and Cangyanshan town in the north, with an administrative area of 167.34 square kilometers.

It was originally located in Pingding County, Shanxi Province; in February 1984, it was changed into the town; in November 1988, Baicheng Township and dujiazhuang Township were merged; in January 1996, nanhaoting township was merged. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in the town was 14882. As of June 2020, the town has jurisdiction over 19 administrative villages and the people's Government of the town is stationed in the village.

History of construction

The territory of the town belonged to Pingding County, Shanxi Province.

In 1956, it was put under the jurisdiction of Jingxing County, Hebei Province.

In 1959, the fish testing commune was established.

In February 1984, it was changed into the town of measuring fish.

In November 1988, Baicheng Township and dujiazhuang Township were merged.

In January 1996, nanhaoting township was incorporated into the city.

As of June 2020, Shiyu town has 19 administrative villages under its jurisdiction: Shiyu village, Zhuhui village, Cuijiayu village, dujiazhuang village, fengjiazhuang village, yanguokou village, Longfengshan village, Baicheng village, hongtuzui village, guojiakou village, Dongjia village, wangjiazhang village, Yanzhuang village, Shimen village, Huayuan village, nanhaoting village, Nansi village, nansizhang village and Xigou village. The town people's government is stationed in Shiyu village.
