Ermi Town, belonging to Tonghua County, Tonghua City, Jilin Province, is located in the north of Tonghua County. It borders Huantong Township, Dongchang District, Tonghua City in the East, kuaidamao town in the south, Hongshi Town, Liuhe County in the West and Guanghua town in the north. It is 14 kilometers away from the county, with a total area of 322.68 square kilometers.

History of construction
In the third year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu (1877) of the Qing Dynasty, there was a compliance insurance system. In 1910, it was changed to Huiliu township. In 1923, it was changed into seven districts. During the puppet Manchukuo period, the seventh police department was set up.
In 1939, it was changed to Desheng village. In 1945, it was changed into Ermi district.
In 1950, it was renamed five districts.

In November 1983, Ermi commune was abolished and divided into Ermi town and Gangou township. Shuguang village is under the jurisdiction of Madang town.
In February 2005, Gangou township was abolished and merged into Ermi town.
In 2005, Hulutao township was abolished and merged into Madang town; in September, Madang town was merged into Ermi town.

In August 2016, the Department of civil affairs of Jilin Province approved that Ermi village, miaodong village, Desheng village, dalianchuan village, beidianzi village and Xicha village in Ermi town of Tonghua County should be assigned to Dongchang District of Tonghua City, and Dongchang District should be established
