It borders Tuanjie street in the East, Jinchang town in the South and Jiangdong Township across Hunjiang River in the West and North. It is the residence of Dongchang District Government with a total area of 5.1 square kilometers.

In 1877, the place was called "toudaojiang"; in October 1964, Xinzhan street was set up by Jiangdong commune. In 2011, the total population of Xinzhan street was 37041. History of construction

In 1877, it was called toudaojiang.

In 1958, Jiangdong, laozhan and Erdaojiang were merged into iron and steel commune.
