Maodianzi Town, belonging to Kuandian Manchu Autonomous County, Dandong City, Liaoning Province, is located in the southwest of Kuandian Manchu Autonomous County, adjacent to Yongdian town in the East, yangmuchuan town in the south, Fengcheng City in the West and qingyishan town in the north, with an administrative area of 324.85 square kilometers.

In 1946, maodianzi district was established, and in 1995, maodianzi town was established. By the end of 2018, the population of Mao Dian Zi registered residence was 14931. As of June 2020, maodianzi town has jurisdiction over 10 administrative villages.

In 2011, the budget revenue of maodianzi town was 5.52 million yuan, an increase of 41.9% over the previous year. In 2018, there were 4 industrial enterprises and 5 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in maodianzi town.

History of construction

In 1946, maodianzi district was established.

In 1956, maodianzi township was established.

In 1958, it was changed into maodianzi commune.

In 1983, maodianzi township was restored.

In 1995, the township was removed to build a town, which was called maodianzi town.

By the end of 2011, maodianzi town had 10 administrative villages: maodianzi, maoshanzi, Baoshi, erdaogangzi, Fengyu, yangmugou, wazigou, Xingrong, xiaojiabaozi and Erdaogou.

As of June 2020, maodianzi town has jurisdiction over 10 administrative villages: maodianzi village, maoshanzi village, wazigou village, Erdaogou village, xiaojiabaozi village, Baoshi village, Fengyu village, erdaogangzi village, yangmugou village and Xingrong village. The town people's government is located at No. 26 Heda Road, maodianzi village.

Maodianzi town is located in the mountainous and hilly area of Eastern Liaoning Province. It is the transition zone between Changbai Mountain and Qianshan Mountain. The terrain inclines from northwest to Southeast. It is high in Northwest and low in Southeast. The average altitude is 400m. Guotouyu, the highest peak, is located at the junction of Fengcheng City, with an altitude of 1028 meters.

History and culture

It is said that in the early years, Korean people built mound platforms in the two villages, where people lived for cultural and entertainment activities. Many years later, the terrace was abandoned, and the mound was covered with weeds and some trees. From afar, it was as if a tuft of hair had grown in the garden. Later, it was named maodianzi.

Xiangshui Temple scenic spot is located in Baoshi village, 8 kilometers northwest of maodianzi Town, Kuandian, 60 kilometers away from Dandong City and 30 kilometers away from the county seat of Kuandian Manchu Autonomous County. It includes three major scenic spots: Xiangshui Temple scenic spot, Baoshi Lake scenic spot and jiulongtan scenic spot.
