In 1950, the five administrative villages of BeiYao, zhongxinqiao, Yihezhuang, Hetou and 50jianfang under the jurisdiction of the Ninth District of Ninghe county were assigned to Tangda District of Tianjin. In 1953, zhongxinqiao Township and Hetou Township were established. In 1958, Zhongxinzhuang township of Ninghe county was transferred to Tianjin. In 1960, it belonged to the communes of zhongxinqiao and Hetou. In 1966, it was established in Zhuangzi commune, and Zhongxinzhuang was merged into zhongxinqiao commune. In 1983, three communes were abolished and four townships, zhongxinqiao, Zhongxinzhuang, Hetou and yuzhuangzi, were established. In 1996, zhongxinqiao Township, with an area of 57 square kilometers and a population of 10000, governed six administrative villages including 50 households, Toudaogou, Liudaogou, zhongxinqiao, Babao and Yihezhuang; Zhongxinzhuang Township, with an area of 16 square kilometers and a population of 11000, governed four administrative villages including Zhongxinzhuang, zhongbache, Zhongxi and sanchuanqiao; Hetou Township, with an area of 34 square kilometers and a population of 12000, governed Hubei, Hetou, Chenquan and sanchuanqiao Shanmenkou, liuzhuangzi and Nanyao are six administrative villages; yuzhuangzi Township covers an area of 12.4 square kilometers and has a population of 7000. It governs six administrative villages, namely yigeda, zhengzhuangzi, yuzhuangzi, zhouzhuangzi, tianzhuangzi and Danian. In 1998, zhongxinqiao Township, Zhongxinzhuang Township, Hetou Township and yuzhuangzi Township were abolished, and zhongxinqiao town and Hetou town were established. In January 2002, zhongxinqiao town and Hetou town were abolished and Hujiayuan street was merged. The eastern part of the district is part of Tanggu city.
